I took Pr. Beth Ferguson's "Sustainable Design" studio course, learning how to design products with upcycled materials.
We had ten weeks to research, iterate, and propose multiple designs. The following presentation documents our Honeycomb Planter Box design, constructed using street signs. We transformed discarded street signs into a hexagon-shaped planter box. The idea was to have 6 of these containers, imitating honeycombs, filled with native plants that attract pollinators. The project intended to raise awareness of pees as important pollinators.
Materials: Upcycled street signs, leftover alderwood from previous project, screws, tools, plants (lavender)
